if you enjoy all sorts of music and you haven’t heard of paris based la blogothèque’s Les Concerts à Emporter series of music films, then you’ve seriously been living under a rock! originated by christophe abric, also known as chryde (twitter @chryde) and initially directed by independent filmmaker vincent moon, who did the first 100 or so episodes, les concerts à emporter, also known as “take-away shows” are simply put, a series of short films showcasing the music of band or artist in a not-so-typical live setting.

with a vimeo page that is now nearing 400 clips, the take-away shows kicked off with an episode by the spinto band back in 2006. it has since played host to a variety of up-and-coming and fully established indie acts, such as likke li, vampire weekend, aloe blacc, and arcade fire, just to name a few.

be sure to check out la blogothèque’s website, as well as their vimeo channel for updates on their take-away shows. you can also follow them via twitter @takeawayshows. in the meantime enjoy some of our favorite episodes below. happy listening… errrr viewing!

jean baptiste de laubier + sixpack = it was on earth that I knew joy!

sixpack france & jean baptiste de laubier have collaborated to create the design & art centric clothing brand’s first ever film in the form of it was on earth that I knew joy. the french born director, also known in musical circles as para one, has crafted a 30 minute short film as a post-apocalyptic ode to sci-fi/lo-fi film-making that is directly influenced by chris marker’s movie “la jetée”.

the film was created as an attempt to round out sixpack’s impressive catalogue of art collaborations, which have seen them work with artists such as cody hudson, hajime sorayama, or stefan marx, to name a few. laubier’s creation was also the center piece of last year’s massive sixpack-curated, scion LA installation. you can check some videos featuring interviews with some of the artists present at the event on scion’s vimeo channel.

having been recently released to the public, the film can be streamed in its entirety via vimeo. you can check it out below…
