For those lucky ones currently settling into summer, this edition of the colectivo index will serve as further inspiration to be out and about relaxing and enjoying the spoils of the warm weather. We’ll be featuring a couple of collaborations by some of our favorite brands, as well as a newly discovered artisanal homeware label from the british isles. For those in need of escaping reality though, we recommend a great way to do so through the eyes of an until recently unknown film director. We also pick one of our favorite lookbooks for the summer 2012 season and to top it all off we go over a very straightforward infographic for the budding chef in all of you. There’s nothing that gets us more excited than quality collaborations between two outstanding brands. This particular one is delivered to you just in time for those summer beach or lake days. After a whole day of soaking up rays and enjoying the beach vibes, we suggest a little head-trip with a viewing of Beyond the Black Rainbow, directed by Panos Cosmatos . Being visually described as Stanley “Kubrick meets David Lynch”, Beyond the Black Rainbow, is now only seeing selected screens in the USA despite it having been made in 2010. This film is not only going to be a visual expedition, but an audio one as well. Jeremy Schmidt, of Black Mountain, pilots the audible stimulation via an analog synthesizer score. In an interview back in September of 2011, Schmidt mentions working on the soundtrack and even alludes to there being a vinyl LP release of it. source: Apple Trailers
When The Hill-Side bro’s Emil and Sandy Corsillo drop new goods, prepare to be fascinated. Their new project, The Hill-Side & Co. pairs 23 brands carried at their Brooklyn famed Hickoree’s shop with signature fabrics used on their own The Hill-Side jawnz. The resulting project of 60 pieces is pretty remarkable and has offerings like shirts, bags, pouches and even furniture. To celebrate the project, they’ve commissioned a series of stop-motion animation videos that show the original Hill-Side wares turning into The Hill-Side & Co. pieces. source: The Hill-Side Newsletter

We recently came across a fantastic brand of homewares, furniture, and textiles based out of Wales called Blodwen. the brand’s aim is to be committed to the preservation and revival of traditional rural skills and the promotion of artisans, while still maintaining a high focus on contemporary design. we particularly love the hand-knitted, natural and crocheted wool throws, as well as some of their tableware pieces. source: Liberty of London Newsletter
Keeping in the spirit of summer, we point your attention towards HUF‘s latest lookbook for their Summer 2012 collection now available at their online shop. Even though the brand may mostly appeal to skater types, we really appreciate the way they’ve presented their collection as a sort of a teaser lookbook. We’re particularly diggin’ their aerial shots of skaters cruising the streets. Certainly, this is a lookbook that perfectly communicates what the brand is all about without giving away too much detail on the actual pieces, which is a great way to get people curious and heading for their website to see more. source: The Daily Street UK
